Alice Cohoon Pryor, age 71, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX, of natural causes. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Wise and Rev. Mark Mason, Jr. officiating and burial to follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, May 14, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Alice was born on September 29, 1946, in Clarksville, TN, to the late Irving Gilbert and Mary Jewel Mathis Cohoon. Alice retired from Christian County Public Schools where she had worked at the Civitan School, Sinking Fork Elementary, Central Office, and Optional High School. She had also worked at Fort Campbell and Cayce Yost. She and her husband had previously owned and operated 7th Street Market. She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church and a charter member of Calico Homemakers. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Pryor in 1992 and her sister, Joy E. Carroll in 2002.
Survivors include her stepmother, Dorothy Carroll Cohoon, of Hopkinsville, KY; her son, Ryan Pryor and his wife Kristi of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter, Mary Beth Beaman and her husband Bobby of Fountain Inn, SC; her brother Frank David Cohoon and his wife Carol of Hopkinsville, KY; her two sisters, Kathy Carroll Vaughan and her husband Jerry of Hopkinsville, KY, Betty Jo Pollock and her husband Robert, of Hopkinsville, KY; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
