Alfred “Buddy” Jones, age 84, of, Western Hills Blvd. passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Crofford officiating with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM -8:00PM on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00PM -8:00 PM at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born in Christian County, KY on August 5, 1934; the son of the late John and Christine Agnes Smith Jones. He was retired from Southern States after 45 years. Buddy was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Ernestine Simpson Jones; his daughters, Brenda Dossett, Dorothy Corley and Linda Reuder; his brothers, Claude, John Thomas, Charles, Gene, Ernest and JD Jones; his sisters, Thelma, Edna, Agnes, and Mildred Jones.
Survivors include his sons, James Pendleton of Hopkinsville and Randy Frederick; his daughter, Betty Stewart of Hopkinsville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 626 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
