Agnes Blane

Agnes Blane, age 105, of Hopkinsville, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at Christian Health of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Thursday, January 19, 2023, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 12:00 Noon. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Miss Blane was born September 7, 1917, in Stewart County, TN, the daughter of the late Adam Clark and Lula Sale Blane. She was a school teacher at Belmont and South Christian. Agnes was of the Methodist faith and a member of Christian Heights United Methodist. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Association. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin brother, Adlai C. Blane; her brother, William S. Blane; her sister, Aline Johnson; her nephews, Walter William “Billy” Blane and James Adam “Jimmy” Blane.

She is survived by her nieces; Brenda Gee, Elaine McGuire, JoAnn Keown and Nona Moore; her nephews, Robert Blane and Ellis “Buddy” Johnson; and several great-nieces and nephews.
