Rondal Wilson Shreve

Rondal “Ron” Wilson Shreve, age 74, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2024, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mr. Shreve was born on November 5, 1949, in Reynolds Station, KY the son of the late John Thomas and Gladys Wilson Shreve. Rondal was a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for 22 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a combat engineer in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a Life member of D.A.V., Purple Heart Association, and V.F.W. Post 1913. Fifty-year member L.M. Cox Masonic Lodge #327, and Ophelia Charter 55 Order of Eastern Star. Rondal was a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite, 32nd-degree York Rite, and member of Shriner Moslem Temple in Ft. Worth, TX, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and a Kentucky Colonel. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brescia College in 1978. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobbie Shreve, John Shreve; and his sister, Carolyn Deason.
   
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Clara Shreve of Hopkinsville, KY; his son, Jason Shreve (Adrienne) of League City, TX; his daughter, Amy Wall (Dru) of Henderson, KY; his brother, Wendell Shreve (Monette) of Columbus, IN; his sister, Barbara Dant of Owensboro, KY; his four grandchildren, Emma Wall, Grant Wall, Lily Wall, and Hayden Shreve; and several nieces and nephews.
