Helen Marie Carter

Helen Marie Henderson Carter, age 87, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 12 Noon with burial to follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery- West. Visitation will be at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church from 10 AM until 12 Noon on Monday, April 1, 2024. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

   Mrs. Carter was born on August 4, 1936, in Hopkinsville, KY, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Florence Schoby Henderson. Helen retired from Dr. JK Conland and Dr. Frances Van Meter in medical records. She was a charter member of Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles “Doug” Carter in 2017, and her brothers, Don and Charlie Henderson.

   Survivors include her sons, Johnny (Theresa) Blane of Hopkinsville, David (Tracey) Blane of Hopkinsville, Mike (Ann) Carter of Hopkinsville, and Steven (Kathy) Carter of Hopkinsville; her eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Gideon Camp.
